Established in 1966, NCC Education offers qualifications, from primary to postgraduate, that lead to world class degrees, masters programmes and bright futures.

Company videos, just like product presentation videos, video tutorials or training videos, are valuable tools for the client, both because they are often used for sales and marketing and because they aim to accelerate and simplify business processes.

In the case of a translation followed by a narration, we work on the spoken translation and provide the off-screen voice over. To this end, the translator and speaker are carefully selected: indeed, both possess the specific translation and voice-over expertise required, enabling us to offer a high-profile service.

The translator is asked to translate a spoken text, a type of translation that needs to be specifically adapted to the purpose, images and times, while simultaneously maintaining the meaning and cultural-linguistic facets of the language the message is being translated into, not to mention respecting the timings and fluidity of the original.

The chosen speaker should have an intonation which suits the video’s end purpose, and should be capable of conveying the intensity of the speech clearly, using correct diction and without a pronounced accent. Moreover, the speaker should pay particular attention to the time of each line of the narrator as well as the duration of the video.

Usually, voice-overs are not produced in sync, i.e., they do not match lip movements, as with dubbing. In voice-overs the speaker begins to speak one-two seconds after the original narrator. The speaker’s voice overlaps with that of the original audio, which can still be heard in the background. This is literally what voice over means.

Subtitling is an audio-visual translation method internationally known as AVT.

This method, which is now widespread throughout the world, allows for the translation of dialogues in a video to be viewed by means of a written text at the bottom of the screen.

Originally used primarily in cinema, in recent years this technique has become increasingly common for the translation of in-house corporate video presentations and video tutorials (for technical departments).

Agents are approved by Cambridge ESOL to sell the full range of BULATS tests to their customers.

BULATS tests assess communication skills that are needed in real-life workplace situations, using materials based on real business texts, tasks and topics. They test all four language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking.

The BULATS certificate is available in four different languages: English, French, German and Spanish.

In compliance with our ISO 9001:2015 certified Quality System and the ISO 17100:2017 standard for translation services, our translation process is divided into the following phases:

Preliminary analysis: the Project Manager (PM) assigned to the job carefully examines the client’s requests, analyses the material to be translated, identifies the type of translation and the right style and register for the final translation and targeted audience. The PM then decides what program or software will be used based on the language, the layout and the client’s requirements.

Planning: the PM selects, assigns and monitors the translators, revisers and expert consultants most suitable for that particular project and provides them with any glossaries or terminology memories the Linguistic Resources Manager (LRM) may have, or see that other suitable ones are compiled.

Production, revision, layout and DTP: once the initial translation has been completed, it undergoes a quality control in order to check for translation completeness and to be sure that all documented quality procedures have been followed throughout the translation process and meet the customer’s requirements. Depending on the nature of the translation, the PM may schedule a revision and/or a review for legal, medical, scientific, chemical-pharmaceutical texts or texts that will be printed or published, upon client's confirmation. Finally, the text is paginated using the layout program required by our clients. We then provide the final turn-key product ready for printing or publishing.

Delivery: the translation is delivered in the format and media specified. Translations are archived according to strict quality procedures to guarantee that they can be retrieved quickly. 

Follow up: the PM verifies the level of customer satisfaction, evaluating any suggestions that could improve the service provided.
