Cookies Policy

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small strings of text that sites visited by the user relay to the terminal (generally the browser) of the user, where they are saved and as a result can be resubmitted to these same sites the next time they are visited.

While navigating a website, users can even receive cookies sent by other sites or web servers (so-called " third parties"), on which may reside some elements, such as images, maps, audio, or specific links to pages on other domains, or from the same site you are visiting.

Persistent cookies, usually found in the user’s browser in large numbers, are used for different purposes such as performing authentications, monitoring sessions, storing information about specific configurations about users accessing the server and so on.

Type of cookie

Cookies are divided into two main categories: “Technical cookies" and "Profiling cookies".

Technical Cookies are ones used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary by the provider of the service of the information company explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such a service” (Art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (the so-called Privacy Code).

Technical Cookies are not used for other purposes and are usually installed by the owner or operator of the site or by third parties (infra sub § 5).

Technical Cookies are split into:

  • navigation or session cookies, which ensure the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authentication to gain access to restricted areas);

  • analytic cookies, similar to Technical Cookies, used exclusively to collect information, in aggregate form, about the number of users and how they visit the site. These cookies allow us to know how visitors use the site, in order to be able to evaluate and improve operations. For example, they let you know which pages are most visited. They take into account, among other things, the number of visitors and time spent on the site by users. In this way we collect information on the quality of the navigation offered. All information collected by these cookies is anonymous and not linked to personal information;

  • functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse based on a set of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service offered.

Another type of cookies are so-called "Flash Cookies" ( Local Shared Objects ), used in Adobe Flash Player to deliver some content, such as video clips or animation, which remembers your settings and preferences. The Flash cookies are stored on the device, but are managed through a different interface than the one provided by your browser.

The Adobe website provides information on how to remove or disable Flash cookies related to a specific domain.

For the installation of these cookies the prior consent of the user is not required, while the obligation to provide the information pursuant to art. 13 of the Italian Civil Code remains. The operator of the site may provide in the manner they deem most appropriate.

Profiling Cookies

Profiling Cookies are aimed at creating user profiles and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences shown while surfing the net. Given the considerable invasiveness that such devices may have within the privacy of users, European and Italian regulations require the user to be properly informed on the use of the same and express their valid consent.

This in compliance with Article 122 of the Italian Civil Code where it provides that "the storage of information in the terminal equipment of a contractor or a user or access to information already stored, are only allowed on condition that the contractor or the user has given consent after It was informed by the simplified procedures referred to in Article 13, paragraph 3" (Art. 122, paragraph 1, of Italian Civil Code).

Cookies are installed from the website that the user is visiting. These are necessary to browse the site, to allow you to use the main functions and secure the connection, to maintain session identifiers and to store authentication information.

Without these cookies, some or all of the site's features may not be usable.

We describe below the third-party cookies that may be used by the site.

The exact nature of some cookies (which, under certain conditions, may be considered "profiling") may be reconsidered in the future on the basis of changes in the interpretation of the directives of the Guarantor: in this case, this information will be updated taking the necessary actions.

Cookies have terms dictated by the expiration date, or a specific action such as closing the browser, as set.

Cookies can be:

Temporary or session cookies: these are used to store temporary information, to allow you to connect the actions performed during a specific session and are removed from your computer when the browser is closed;

Permanent (persistent cookies) are used to store information, such as name and password, so as to avoid the user having to type them again each time you visit a particular site. These are stored on your computer after you close your browser.

MANAGEMENT OF COOKIES - how to disable them

In most browsers cookies are enabled at the origin. The user can decide whether or not to accept them using the settings of their browser.

If you have already given consent but you want to change the cookies’ permissions, you have to delete them from the browser, as shown below, because otherwise those already installed will not be removed. In particular, note that you cannot in any way control third-party cookies, so if you have already previously given consent, it is necessary to delete cookies through the proper browser section or by asking the third party for the opt-out.

For more information, please see the following websites:
