Face to face simultaneous interpreting

 

The challenge

We have been invited to provide simultaneous interpreting at a prestigious international event, mainly of an improvised nature.

The purpose of the event was to discuss the group’s future strategy.

The solution

The Project Manager responsible assigned the job to one of our best simultaneous interpreters.

Having an interpreter who was confident in handling spontaneous exchanges, for which it is impossible to prepare in advance, meant that everything went extremely smoothly.

It is essential to have a long track record in simultaneous interpreting, and this is just as important as the interpreter’s linguistic competence and specialist knowledge of the subject matter.

We liaised extremely closely with the client, exchanging relevant documentation and any useful information to ensure that the service we provided reflected the importance of the event.

The result

Our client was impressed by our interpreter’s high level of linguistic and technical preparation, as well as the clarity and fluidity with which she performed the task, despite the fact that none of the transcripts of the actual speeches were provided in advance.
