Company videos, just like product presentation videos, video tutorials or training videos, are valuable tools for the client, both because they are often used for sales and marketing and because they aim to accelerate and simplify business processes.
In this specific case, we worked on the spoken translation for PSP and provided the off-screen voice for a video tutorial. For these projects, the translator and speaker were carefully selected: indeed, both were instructed in the specific translation and voice-over techniques required, enabling us to offer a high-profile service.
The translator was asked to translate a spoken text, a type of translation that needs to be specifically adapted to the purpose, while simultaneously maintaining the meaning and cultural-linguistic facets of the language the message is being translated into, not to mention respecting the timings and fluidity of the original.
The chosen speaker had an intonation which suited the video’s end purpose, and was able to convey the intensity of the speech clearly, using correct diction and without a pronounced accent.
Usually, voice-overs are not produced in sync, i.e. they do not match lip movements, as with dubbing. The speaker’s voice overlaps with that of the original audio, which can still be heard in the background.
In this specific case, the technical aspects of the recording and editing were overseen by PSP. However Interlinguae can also offer this service, thanks to a collaboration with our trusted technical partners.
