Interlinguae's ISO 9001:2008, EN 15038 and UNI 10574 certified quality system divides the translation process into various phases, from the awarding of the job through definition of the resources required and planning and completion of the job:
o Preliminary analysis: Interlinguae studies closely its client requests, analyzes the material to be translated, identifies the type of translation, the targeted audience and the software formats required, and checks if it is possible to use translation memories.
o Planning: Interlinguae assigns each client their own liaison Project Manager, selects the most suitable translators and revisers from its database and any outside consultants required, among which lawyers, doctors or engineers, according to their specific requisites. In this phase, the adequate existing glossaries and/or memories are selected by the Linguistic Resources Manager (LRM) or created as appropriate.
o Production, revision, DTP and layout, final reviewing: once the translation has been completed and revised in one or more languages, the text is then imported into the software format required by the client, and accurately formatted in order to match the original layout. Finally, the text undergoes a series of planned checks to ensure that the final product conforms to the requirements agreed upon and that it is ready to be printed or published on line.
o Delivery: Interlinguae delivers the document(s) required to the client in the format and media specified. Job-related material is then archived according to the procedures outlined in the Quality System to ensure traceability.
o Follow up: through on-going contact with the client and through meetings and surveys, Interlinguae verifies the level of customer satisfaction, eliciting any suggestions that could improve the service it provides.

Interlinguae has an in-house department dedicated to Linguistic-Terminological research, an area that is of fundamental importance with clear-cut objectives:
o Creation, updating and validation of: glossaries: The Linguistic Resources Manager (LRM) carries out or oversees the creation of glossaries of specific sectors or for regular clients, is in charge of the validation process with the client, archives and keeps them updated. Each time a first translation is done for a given sector or client, a supplementary glossary is prepared with the help of experts in the field and through research within the target countries, in order to guarantee the most appropriate and consistent possible application of the terminology used in the translations. translation memories by means of CAT tools (computer-aided translation tools), such as the SDL Trados and Across software. Thanks to these tools, parts of text translated in previous documents or manuals for the same customer may be retrieved, thereby optimising the use of repetitive text while maintaining consistency and uniformity over time and reducing the cost of subsequent similar documents or manuals.
o Research and testing: the Linguistic Resources Manager analyzes and tests the functioning and applications of software available on the market for the creation of terminology databases and translation memories.
