Text with non-Latin fonts:
Those pages that make use of non-Latin alphabets (Russian, Chinese, Arabic) are also available in *.gif format.

Generally, to also display these pages correctly in text format, your browser needs to be able to read the specific code associated with that page (Cyrillic, Simplified Chinese, Arabic, etc.). Those browsers compatible with the pages in this site are Internet Explorer 5.x and Netscape 6.x.
Microsoft Internet Explorer
When Internet Explorer 5.x detects this type of encoding, it automatically launches the update for your version of Windows to install the language pack requested.
To perform this operation manually, follow the steps below:
1. Click : Tools -> Windows Update and select the installation of the support tool required.
You may also have to manually change the page encoding.
To do this, you may have to: click on Display -> Encoding -> More... and select the language you wish to set the page encoding for.
Microsoft Internet Explorer Versions 4.x
1. Click: Help -> Product Updates, in the dialogue box click OK and install the Language Support pack desired.
2. Click : Display -> Internet Options -> Fonts.
Click once on the language you desire, then select the alphabet from the CHARACTER SET drop-down list and then click on SET from the DEFAULT button.
Netscape Navigator/Communicator
Netscape Navigator/Communicator (Netscape versions 4.x , 6x)
1. Click : Change -> Preferences -> Display -> Fonts.
Set the language desired in "For the Encoding" and select the font.
2. Under the option "Sometimes a document will provide its own fonts" select "Use document specified fonts, including Dynamic Fonts".
If other characters are still being substituted for the non-Latin alphabet desired, change the option above to "Use my default fonts, overriding document-specified fonts". |
